Google play store is one of the Google services that Google provides to its account holders. It provides access to a variety of apps, music, movies, games, magazines, and many more things.
It suggests apps and games according to experience with it. Anyone can download and install apps easily on the Google play store. It enables users to rate the apps and give reviews about them.
Sometimes Google play store starts stopping and does not work properly. There are a lot of reasons that can cause problems in working. You can fix it by yourself by using the given methods.
Spot the problem
First of all, ensure that the problem is not on a wider stage with Google but it is on your device. You can ensure it by checking the status of the Google play store on a service such as a down detector.
If the problem is from Google then many people report the problem which you can check from the down detector. In that case, you have to wait, Google will fix it by itself.
If the problem is not on the Google side then it is from the user side. The first thing you can do is to restart your mobile phone. Sometimes other things outside the Google play store affect it by restarting, it will sort out the problem if it is small, otherwise, try other solutions.
Sometimes poor internet connection can also cause problems with apps and the play store’s work on the internet. Off your Wifi connection and then on again.
You can switch your wifi connection to mobile data to check whether your internet is not working. You can also do it by turning on “airplane mode” then turning it off. In the end, you can reset the router to ensure the proper internet connection.
Check time and date
If your mobile phone date and time are not correct, meaning the time displayed on the phone is not the actual one then Google services will not sync with the device, and the google play store may not work.
You can fix this problem by following the given steps
- Move towards the settings on your mobile phone
- Just tap on the ‘date and time’ option which will appear there.
- Ensure your date and time is automatic on the date and time provided by the network. If not then turn on it
- If after turning it on the problem remains then you can set the date and time manually. Firstly turn off the automatic date and time option then you can enter the date and time by yourself.
If the Google play store is still not working after setting the date and time then go to other solutions.
Force stop and clean up the app
Sometimes freeze or glitch apps start working when they are forcefully stopped. Go to settings of your mobile phone then go-to apps. Select the Google play store and tap on the “Force stop” option to enable it.
Sometimes clearing cache storage or play store data can also solve the stopping app. Clear the cache and data of the Google play store and check whether it starts working or not.
Get updated version
A person must confirm that he is using the latest version of the app or not. If not then get the updated version, it will be more stable. You can check whether you are using the latest version or not by following the given step
- Go to your Google play store app and then go to your profile by tapping on your profile picture present on the upper right side
- Select the “settings” option then select “General”.
- Ensure that the “auto-updated app” option is on. If not then turn it on.
